We are happy to confirm the first live appearance
of TUXEDOMOON in Bulgaria.
The show is scheduled for 25th of September at
Sofia's Modern Theatre www.moderntheatre.org .
Tickets go onsale from September 1st, via Eventim
www.eventim.bg , priced 17.5 euro in advance and
20 euro on the day of performance.
The band originates from the post punk scene of San
Francisco in 1977, explores different musical styles
– no wave, experimental, new wave, electronic, jazz –
creating its unique sound in 14 studio albums and
thrilling audio – visual performances. Tuxedomoon
moved to Europe in the beginning of the 80s.
The cult Winston Tong and multi-instrumentalist Ivan
Georgiev had been part of the line up of the band.
Appearing live in Sofia are:
Steven Brown – piano, sax, clarinet, voc /
Blaine L. Reininger – violin, guitar, keybords, voc /
Peter Principle – bass, programming /
Luc van Lieshout – trumpet, flügelhorn, harmonica /
Bruce Geduldig – visuals, mise-en-scène /.
Tuxedomoon is notable with its avant-garde musical art.
Band’s songs participate in the soundtracks of
Downtown 81 and Wim Wenders’ Wings of Desire.
Artists such as Martin Gore and Amanda Palmer have
covered songs by Tuxedomoon.
